An image is an artifact that depicts visual perception

Event: Splash the Canvas

The vibe was right, creativity was flowing, drinks were pouring, and the people were having a good time.  During my interview with Mescal he happened to mention that he was going to be doing a cypher at this event called Splash the Canvas at the FachaPatoto gallery in Boyle Heights.  A Saturday night with creative people and free drinks? Of course I was down.

Splash the Canvas

As stated on their site:

"The Canvas is a multimedia series fusing art & culture by spotlighting emerging, untapped artists in the entertainment industry.  We as the creative collective understand the powerful influence of this industry and have cohorted together to protect our culture with this platform. Inspired, by the rebirth of art & culture, The Canvas provides a blank slate for diverse artists to break free from the stencil in order to re-create creativity. Glance at the lives that have colored outside the lines."

FachaPatoto

As stated on their site:

"FachaPatoto Gallery is located in the heart of Boyle Heights, five minutes from downtown Los Angeles and two blocks from the gold line metro station, dedicated to supporting established and emerging artists- providing a platform where art can support and collaborate with non-profit and grassroots organizations to spread awareness of important social issues. The space is available for exhibits, performances, workshops, screenings, pop-ups etc."

The night included live painting, DJ on set, Hip Hop & R&B performances, pop locking, and a Rap cypher.

It was a colorful night
